The Clinton/Obama debates really give me a pain...they are both so anxious not to offend anyone that they offend me.An example perhaps helps.
They both said that english should not be required to be our national language...a common language is what unites us as a nation because we are in fact a nation of emigrants.I have no problem with people retaining their culture at home but out of the house we are all americans.Their stance is ridiculous and shameful for candidates for our highest office.They embarass me by their pandering for the hispanic vote.I won't vote for either one of them..I want a leader not a wishiwashy person.Shame on them.We teach American history,American literature ect;except for
the American Indian our families all got off the boat and we take pride in being
Americans not german or irish or spanish.My family is a blend of german,scotch,and spanish . We all speak english and so can the hispanics and orientals who have been sneaking across our borders.
Their endless bickering is demeaning.I served in the us army for years and there were many accents but everyone spoke english.Rob Roy
